…Elvira, interpretata dal soprano piacentino Giovanna Beretta, che è stata polo d’attrazione della serata fin dalla prima entrata in scena. La Beretta ha saputo interpretare lo spartito rossiniano contando su una formazione artistica molto solida e su una voce smagliante, nitida e ben caratterizzata: tutte doti cha hanno permesso molto bene di rendere il personaggio di Elvira.

At Fontanellato ( Parma) the soprano from Piacenza in “Italiana in Algeri”
…Giovanna Beretta the soprano from Piacenza played the part of Elvira that was the centre of attention from when she came on the scene.
Beretta sang the musical score of Rossini counting on her sound artistic training and on a magnificent , clear voice.
These were all qualities that helped in the rendering of the part of Elvira.
